Derek was born in Lynchburg, VA, and moved to Mississippi when he was 4. He grew up in Brandon, MS, and went to Northwest Rankin High School. While in high school he played wide receiver on the football team and was a member of FCA throughout his time in high school. After high school, he worked many different jobs over the years but always found himself drawn to the fitness field and wanting to help others grow. So after some conversations with his wife and some close friends he decided that coaching was what he wanted to do. He started coaching at Coyote in October of 2021. Derek is married to Avery, they have been married since 2019. They have one dog, Millie.

Hinds Associates Degree (General Studies)

Certifications:

CrossFit level 1 Trainer
Precision Nutrition Level 1
