Congrats to Beth Zito, our December Athlete of the Month!

Great job, and keep at it!

When did you start doing CrossFit?  February 2019

What is your favorite WOD? I like them all - everyone is a challenge.

What is your least favorite WOD? Anything with the bike! It kills me!

What is your favorite lift? Clean & Jerk - my whole body feels it

What is your least favorite lift? Strict press

What is your favorite cheat meal? Cheeseburger!

Tell us a little about yourself (family, job, sports, interests, etc.)

I'm married to Mike Zito, the most amazing man I've ever known (besides my Dad). We combined our families and have four teenagers - Reed (17), Sydney (16), Trey (16), Will (14), and two dogs, Ace and Duke. It's a very busy household that consumes a ton of food! When I'm not cooking or working in the IT or marketing communications world or going to Crossfit, I love to ride horses - fox hunting, to be more specific. We spend a lot of family time together, which is really our favorite thing to do. Crossfit is a family affair, too - all of us go to Crossfit, except Trey because he trains daily for varsity football, But we hope to get him there in the off season.

What were you doing before CrossFit? Running and light weights.

What were your thoughts after your first WOD? I am so much weaker than I thought I was!

What were your goals when you joined Coyote? I wanted to put on muscle and get stronger.

Have you achieved any of these goals? YES!  I've dropped body fat and gained muscle - and I lift a lot more than I could just a few months ago.

Has CrossFit affected your life outside of the gym? Absolutely! I am stronger, more confident in my abilities, and I feel better about myself. It also challenges me daily - as well as gives me a full stress relief.

Do you have any special memories/achievements during your time at Coyote? I came to the realization that Coyote is more than just a gym. It's such a positive place to be where every single person there is supports, helps and encourages others both with exercise and life matters. It's tight group with a feeling of camaraderie.

“Coyote is more than just a gym. It’s such a positive place to be where every single person supports, helps, and encourages others...”

What advice would you give someone just starting at Coyote? Just show up and do what your coaches tell you.

Tell us something we might not know about you? After having moved away to North Carolina for 21 years, I moved back home two and half years ago and am so happy I did. There really is no place like home!
